Two quarts of strong wort boyle it till it be as thick as hony
take often ofe it upon a Liquorish stick if the partye be
inclind to a dropsey boyle a clove of Garlick in it

Dr Bates Juyce of Licorish for the Lungs & roughnes
of the throte

Coltsfoot water a quart licorish beaten halfe a pound put
them together let it stand 2 days stir it now & then
strain it & put to it a pound of loafe suger set it on the
fire stir it constantly that it grow not to the skillet when it
grows thick put into it an ounce & a halfe of the fine powder
of serced Licorish & 4 ounces of fine suger serced 10 grams
of Amber greice in fine powder make it into roles with serced
suger it will dry in any warme place

For the Bleeding of the Lungs

The white of a new layd egge beaten to froth a little powder of
white starch a quarter of a pint of Juyce of stinging nettles the
same of Juyce of Plantaine as much old conserve of red
roses as will make it into Papp take a sponful night &
morning & oftener in extremity you may adde to it the
powder of the hairy Apple that grows on sweet Brier

weak you may mixe it with boyld conserve of Roses a
Ptisan drink very Pectrol as with Figgs rasins Lungwort
