The 2nd is an impstuma of a greenish culor unsavory smel at the end of the proba the 3d is a Bladder of water at the hole of the eare like the Bladder of a Roach The 4th is a congelation it is known by the Dimnesse drynes of the Drum head or Timpanum or greynes of it & they that are thus trobled eare wax at all but the eare is perfectly dry sumthing scaly like Dandrew to know the Berrys wher of the Balsame is made to cure this 4 causes as also surfitts Bruses Rissing of Blood runing of the reighne in ward deseases coming of inflamation is or impostumations of the stomach or any other part they grow by river sides & in moyst places upon a long stalt or stalks by Ditches or ponds in clusters or Bunches like cherys being perfect red in culor haveing fine little smal Iagged leaves like straw Berrys but in culor blewish & the stalk blewish ther are 4 kinds of berys like thes but they have but 3 or 4 stons apece wher as thes have 30 or 40 stones in each of them & a perl on the Top of euery one of them they must be gathered in August or september be wave of Bruseing them in the gathering

Just them into an earthen vessel couer them with water boyle them til they swim but break non of them strain the liquor from them without breaking any of them then strain the Berrys thurow a reasonable thick cloth & strong for feare the seeds should come thurow this done put the Balsama into some close vessel

To cure the first cause caled an obstruction make an iniection with one pint of faire water & halfe a pint of red rose water & 3 or 4 drops of Balsame infused into the iniection water & when you dress the patient powr some of the water into the porenger make it as hot as you can well suffer it on the back of your hand when you iniect it into the eare which doe 10 or 11 times together at one dressing with your sering or wind instrument lay a napkin on the neck of the patient & hold a porenger to the eare to receive the iniection & obstruction then clens the eare very dry dress the patient with the Balsame a dossle being dipt halfe way therwith & put into the eare as farr as the patient can indure it leave it therin 24 howers this with gods blessing is cured in 4 days

to cure the 2nd kind

make your iniection with Beife Brine & sack lees boyle & scum them strain them throw a cloth 4 or 5 times double then drop into a pint of it 5 or 6 drops of your Balsama & make iniection with your sering & draw what wind

3:D:

you can out of the eare you can after euery iniection this being done 10 or 12 times clens the eare with a dry Dossle with cotton wool til the patient wink for you may draw to hard you may draw with your soaker 2 or 3 times at a dresing & the cure will be sooner effected for the [draining] brings away the humors from the drum Head this done dip the Dossle halfe wayin the Balsame & apply it close to the Timpanum leaveing it ther 24 howers this will cure in 3 weeks in sommer but in winter it require a longer time

The 3d cause

Cut a pece of a spung as big as a finger & an Inch long wett it well in rose water then bind it about hard with pack thrid or brown thrid let it dry in the wind or sun then take the thrid from it & it will be as smal as a poynt tagg the which put gently into the eare as gently as can be suffred let not the party lean on the contrary side then drop into the eare a little of the patients own water & the spung will swel as big as before & therby breaks the Bladder of water then enter your serew against the midst of the Bladder of water twisting your screw from you drawing your hand towards you very softly & the Bladder will twist about the empty screw which being drawn out make an iniection with rosewater & white wine viniger of each alike 3 or 4 drops of the Balsame of the iniection iniect it as hot as can be indured holding the poringer under the eare to receive what comes out draw out all
