A Clarified Whey wch cured Mrs Tilyand when she was goeing into a consumption

Sage sorrel Agremony Bettony Scabious water cresses Brooklime Plantain Dentdelion & Fumatory Straw berry Leaves & violet Leaves Bawm one handful of each wash & dry them very clean over night put them in to 8 qtrs of whey wth a pound of Blew corinths & a pound of Pruins boyle it red a 3d part is wasted powder it all together into a stein pott cover it with a Brown paper & a Board next morning drink one poregner ful with one spoonful of Agustin syrope & 2 of syrope of Roses drink a Porenger in the Afternoon wthout syrope it may purg 4 or 5 times a day drink it 8 days

For the Colick

A glyster of the Best Canary give it & before it a pint of sack or white wine posset a Friend of mine gave 5 pound fr this receit

For a Cough & Consumption

An Herb called bitter sweet made into Thea & drunk three times in a day

For the Colick Thea made of Ruberb & Liquorish taden constantly when yu have it is excellent yu may adde to every dish 40 Drops of elixer [proprietraths] or lesse [i.]

For the Colick 2 ounces of Liquorish 2 drams of Rubarb put a pint of scalding water to it & take a pint at a time For the Colick Cream of Tartar Ruberb Liquorish Caroway seeds each an ounce made into fine Powder & [serced] take as much as will lye on a shilling in a morning in any Liquor For the Colick & to sweeten the Bloud Sheeps Feet or Trotters boyld in water with a blad of mace & drink a chiny cup warme night & morning [is] not good for such as am [mihind] to be Fatt For the Colick it cured Mr Brumfeild when all other means would not A handful of camomile Flowers the same of Elder Flowers boyld in Ale or [Bosset] drink & take a good draught hott morning & night for a fortnight together Aqua Coelestis The Heavenly water is a principle Antidote against infections & poysoned Ayres either taken or smelt unto & alsoe for the head Palsia or faling sicknes & for the Colick or any Gripeing of the Gutts & cold Fluxes of the Gutts or Belly & 2 spoonfuls given in a Glyster made as folowed Cinomon an ounce Ginger [zedoary] each halfe an ounce All the sorts of sanders each 6 drams cloves Galingal each 2 drams both the cardamums each 3 drams seed of nigella mace Cubebs each one dram Annisseed sweet Fennel seed wild Parsnip seed Bazel each one dram & a halfe Roots of Angelica Avins sweet Reed each 2 drams Phu the lesser Leaves of Clary Thime calamint Penny Royal mints mother Thime mar ierom each one dram & a halfe Red Rose Leaves Sage Rosemary Bettony Stacadoes Buglos Borage the Flowers Ciltron Peels 3 drams Bruse what is to be brused & infuse them [is] days in a vessel well stop it in [ie] Twelve pound of the Best Spirit of wine then distil it in B: M: according to Art & adds to the distilled water thes things Diamber Aromaticum Rosat sweet Diamosch Diamae grit Frig Diawhood Abbat Electuary of Gems each 3 Drams yalow sanders Brused 2 drams Mose Amber Greic in a little Bag each a dram [cleer] gulapa of Roses i pound shake them to gather let them stand [til] the water be clear stop it with wax & a Bladder

For a Cancer in the Breast it cured one Mrs Ernly who had been in most of the best surgions hands & was given ouer For almost a whole year she was let Bloud once in 5 weeks 10 ounces & upon extraordinary paines oftener & then at night going to Bed she always took a graine of London Laudanum which always quelled it & now and then if the paine continued she took it 3 nights together following she purged once a week with an ounce of manna & & 2 quarts of stretham or North Hall or Duledg water otr any purging water desolving the manna in the first glass that night after the waters that night she always took a pill of Laudanum her constant drink was as Followed A pound of sharp poynted Dock Root clensed from the pith & sliced thinn halfe a poud of Dandelion roots & handfuls of Egrimony Brooklime & water cresses the same 4 handfuls of Ferr Topps Elder Flowers 2 handfuls a quart of shel snayles clensed 2 ounces of Vine Tree Bark the rihnds of 4 oranges distiled all in a galon of new milk in an ordinary stil euery morning at 8 & euery euening at 4 shee took except when she purged half a dram of Ethiopia mineral but take can it be next done by [fire]

A poltis for a Cancer in the Breast it cured good wife Cook's when the Drs & surgions had given Egrimony a good it ouer handful shred the leaves & boyle them in a quart of milk for halfe an hower then thicken it with grated white Bread & beat a couple of the Yolks of Eggs beat them together & put them into it &give it iust a Boyl then take it ofe then put in a pennyworth of saffron & halfe a spoonful of Hony & the quantity of a walnutt of Hoggs Lard stir them well together & lay it to the Breast twice a day Dr Harvie when he has my LA Howlands Breast in cure would not let any Lynin come to it washe in sope but in milk.

The Water commonly called my Lady Berkshire her Cancer Water

Take a pound and half of Mome and of white Copperis 2 ounces, of fire Bole Armoniack a quarter of an ounce
