Dear Sir

As respresenting the citizens of Fort Wort Worth I appeal to you for assistance for the starving Poor of Zapata County

This county is now suffering from a two years drouht during that time no crops have been raised and none planted this spring and the live stock interests of the county are ruined_ Work for the Poor there is none Aug a state of actual starvation now exists at Hundreds of Families

All who can do are leaving the County but it is impossible for the great majority. to do so

We require immediate help over we are satisfied that our

Nevertheless it is a fact and unless we mediate help is extended to us God knows what we will do. donations of Provisions Can suit. We your finance Committee to whom the within petition for aid was referred, beg to report: while we appreciate the conditions that provail in Zapata County and the necessity there is for immediate action to relieve the suffering there, Yet we have no authority to donate trust-fund, and are so advied by our city attorney. However, we appeal to the citizens fo Fort Worth to respond to this call for help and to send their do nations to the Mayor or to judge Harrios that there may be no delay in forwarding the donations.
