Tuesday 25 Visited the general head quarters a very small man in statu(re) but very clear had an introduction to major Russell engaged him to preach for me on thanksgiven day and I promised to preach for him on sabeth secured a box from home and a letter and box from Mrs. Hiss of Elkton for the sick of the 614 Reg spent the evening in my tent anything to pass faster the night very dark and wet Wrote to Mrs Hiss

Wensday 26 distributed eatable to the sick of the right wing and the hospital prayed with mr Boyd who is now here in the hospital visited Andrew Smith he is very low and weak Received some things from home wrote to Ed Gelmon of Cherry Hill thank god for his goodness

Thursday 27 Thanksgivin day the col marched his Reg right and left wing into towne made a fine afternoon the church could not hold 1/2 of the Reg invited to dine with an Elder but refused returned to Camp in good order 5 or 6 men put in the guard house for refussing to go to church receied a letter from home and wrote home today visited the sick of the left whing Capt Mauzer spent some time in my tent to night seen a letter from Doct Carters Friday 28 Recd a letter from Moll Montihons and one from Charles Pecock visited the left whing and there (?) wrote to my Daug Mary Moll Montihons and Charles Pecock my health very good for which I am thankfull in my tent righting until after 10 oclock at night then retired

Saterday 29 nothing special to day gave out some provisions to the sick of the right wing visited Williamsport in the afternoon gave M. Culertson the Hymns for the Sabeth in my tent all the evening snowed until nearly 12 oclock to day am in good health

Sunday 30. preached to day in the presbyterian church to a large congregation chaplain of the first MD present Major Russell was present and General (?) took dinner with Mr Culbrton visited Andrew Smith he is still very low herd the Major preach at night from chose ye this day whom you will serve overflowing congregation my text this morning was Luke 10 and last verse I am in good health thank god for his goodness

Monday Dec 1, received a letter from home news of Mr. Carter Sickness hope and pray that she may recover received a letter from Major B? Ricketts of the 2nd Reg wrote to bro MilXXX ? to my family I am in good health nothing special today

Tuesday 2 am in good health rose from bed this morning earlyer than common went out in the field and saw the men practicing target shooting went over to the first Reg head down talk with the Chapline visited the hospitals in the afternoon and prayed with the sick received a letter from docter Carter poor Man his wife is very ill I hope her life will be spared for the sake of her family and the church

Wenesday 3 Spent from 1/4(?) past 9 ock this morning until most three in the service field the entire brigade was out and made a fin appearence it extended at least one mile it was inspected by the field and staff officers I had the post of one of the staff my position being between the Line Col and the adjutant and thus we pased th(r)ough inspecting very nicely? the general at the head when I arrived at the tent I found the chaplin of the first Reg was there he took dinner with me I received to night a lettre from Bro quigly and one from G?. E. Cartre and a short note from home Mrs Cartre is better Thank god for his goodness
