Beef Loaf

1 1/2 lbs. cold cooked meat chopped
very fine, fat and lean but no
skin or gristle.
5 soda crakers rolled fine or an
equal amount of bread crumbs, add
to the meat and crumbs.
2 beaten eggs
1 T butter
1 t salt
1/2 t pepper
1/2 t sage-level
a little scraped onion.
Moisten enough to pack well with a
little broth or milk
Mix very thoroughly
Make into a loaf. Rub over with
softened butter and bake slowly
about 1 1/2 hours.
Use hot or cold.
