NOTICE TO
CITIZENS

Whereas, the President of the United States has
issued his proclamation calling for the registration of ALL
MALE CITIZENS BOTH WHITE and COLORED BE-
TWEEN THE AGES of 21 To 31 on THE 5th DAY of
JUNE 1917 BETWEEN the HOURS of 7 a. m. and 9 p. m,
you will find at the regular voting place in each township
in Chatham county on the 5th day of June between the
hours above named the following named qualified Registrars:

Albright Township, Will E. Johnson,
Baldwin Township, R. B. Lambeth,
Bear Creek Township, D. H. Ellis, C. M. Andrews,
Cape Fear Township, Merry Oaks Precinct, R. J. Yates,
Cape Fear Township, Buckhorn Precinct, S. W. Harrington,
Center Township, W. H. Griffin, G. H. Brooks,
Gulf Township, Gulf Precinct, D. E. Murchison,
Gulf Township, Richmond Precinct, C. B. Fitts,
Hadley Township, T. H. Perry,
Haw River Township, W. H. Laster,
Hickory Mt. Township, J. B. Burke, G. W. Brooks,
Matthews Township, Siler City Precinct, J. S. Wrenn, M. M. Fox,
Matthews Township, Mt. Vernon Springs Precinct, J. M. Foust,
New Hope Township, B. D. Thrailkill, N. J. Wilson,
Oakland Township, J. R. Poe,
Williams Township, J. J. Bryan.

No one is from any cause whatever exempt from
this registration and those who may neglect or refuse to
present themselves will be VIGOROUSLY PROSECUTED
IN THE UNITED STATES COURT and are subject to
BOTH FINE and IMPRISONMENT REGARDLESS of
COLOR.

All citizens are urged and requested to give this
matter the utmost publicity and each one is expected to do
his part in bringing about a speedy registration as requir-
ed by Law.
