The family of Truman DeWitt Peale gratefully acknow- ledge and deeply appreciate your kind expression of sympathy I n the loss of our son, and the beautiful floral offering of white gladioli and columbine.
As our boy moved about In the R.C.A.F. training from city to city – Brandon, Windsor, Toronto and Oshawa, it was ever the same - “The mothers

of Canada are wonderful to us.” We feel that it is a real challenge to the mothers in the States to live up to this when your boys come here for training.
With our hears crying out against the injustice of War, our main comfort comes with the knowledge we have given the best that we had.
We are praying that your sons may be spared, but should any of them fly into the great beyond, may you receive the comfort and understanding sympathy you have given to us.
Sincerely, Mr. And Mrs. De Witt Peale and daughter Katharine

Dear Mrs. Hall,
I received your parcell to-night and was very glad to receive it.
I really don’t know what to say.
As soon as I opened them naturally I had to pass a few of them out to the boys. That is a custom in our barracks. I really don’t feel to much like writing to-night. I just got a needle and my arm and head is starting to ache.

Dear Madam
Your kind gift of a box of chocolates has been received to-day. I would like you to know that it is very much appreciated, and that these gifts from our friends at home go a long way toward making our job easier.
