sent to me by Express, together with

twenty females from each lake

so that way the development of the
procreative organs of both sexes

however desire any information

have died from the extreme scarcity
of the food which formed [ice?] in the
very bottom of the ponds - a few
however did Escape and grew to
a good size, but were lost to us by
the breaking of the dams.

There were great [numbers?]
of lakes in Manitoba, manyf of
them are large and well supplied
with White-fish and Salmon trout,
others contain less [avear?], and
are inhabited with Pike, Bass, Perch
etc. -- Some of the latter from their
shallow marshing surroundings are
considered well adapted for the growth
of Carp and it is proposed to stock
some of these with those species of
fish.

I [?] all feel much
[undoblast?] to you for the information
[schoolfor?] and also for such
suggestions as will be probably [back?]
to a [desirable?] planting of German
Carp in our [Masterro?] Waters.
