grown older and wiser, yet we looked upward tonight also and smiled and we thought of three years ago. It was a pleasant walk we took tonight, and at the Lyceum I thought many glances were directed to this returned Californian. Dr. E. S. Porter delivered a very fine lecture on the "Perversions of Science," to which I gave very good attention as Henry observed. In fact I was very much pleased with it, and consider it as one of the best lectures I have heard this winter. Hugh D. and Ellen accompanied Carrie and Nat, and on our return all came in. Henry did not stay long as it is necessary for him to keep early hours.
Friday, February 27th. Weather pleasant. Sewed in the morning.
