Mr Lovejoy gives me an opportunity to ask my dearest friend how you do, & permit an ardent wish that I may hear from you by Saturday Evening if I may [illegible] build on the Hope of seeing you -- Mr Pearson I suppose you will see tomorrow or next Day. I Samuel Phillips of Andover in the County of Essex, and Province of the Massachusetts bay in New-England, Clerk, do by these Presents Authorize & fully Impower my eldest & well beloved Son, Mr. Samuel Phillips junr of Andover aforesd, Merchant, to Prosecute in my Name, and as my Lawfull Attorney, to the utmost, in the Civil Law, all and Every Such Person or Persons who have Trespassed, or who shall hereafter Trespass upon any of my Lands lying in the Province of New Hampshire in New-England, viz. in Londonderry, Windham, Chester or Freetown (so called) Namely, Whether the Trespass be a Cutting down, or Carrying off any Timber or other Wood of what name or kind soever, belonging to any of my said Lands, or a making of any Spoil or any Encroachment thereon in any form whatsoever. And I also Give the sd Samuel Phillips junr full Power to Substitute one or more Persons to Prosecute all such Trespassers, as abovesaid. In Witness whereof, I have here unto set my hand & Seal in Andover, this Twenthyeth Day of February, Anno-Dom:, On thousand Seven hundred and Fifty, Fifty-one. At a Lawfull Meating of ye Inhabitances of ye South Precinct of Andover upon ye 12th Day of December. 1710

Voted and [passed], that ye Precinct would pay, to the Reverend Mr. Samuel Phillips, 60 pounds in Money, a year while he carries on the work of the Minestry Among us in an Unmarried State and when he Shall See Reason to Marry, then to [ad] to his Sallery ten pounds a Year. So long as he Continues in the work of ye Minestry Among us. A true Copy Attest Thomas Abbott Clerk.

At a Lawfull Meating of the South Precinct upon ye 6th of March 1722/3

Voted and pased that ye Precinct have added ten pounds to Mr. Phillips Sallery Yearly so long as he Caries on the whol work of the Minestry in the South Precinct of Andover and Bills of Credit are pasing Currant among us as he Carries on the wholl work of ye Minestry so long. A true Copy Attest Thomas Abbott Recept given Decr 5th 1717
