It was also agreed that a certificate should be given to Lawrence
Saunders, that he had passed the requisite examinations for
the Degree of Doctor of Medicine and that the sole reason
for his obtaining the Degree is that he has not reached
the age of twenty-one years.

It was further declared that the following gentlemen
should be declared, and they are hereby declared, to have
passed their Primary Examination in Medicine: Samuel
Abbott, Charles Bleasdell, D.B. Booth, James Clarke,
John R. Dickson, David Johnston, H.J. Murphy, J.A.
Oliver, John O'Sullivan, Albert Rockwell.

There was read an Extract Minute of the Faculty
of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons at
Kingston, recommending that the Degree of Doctor of
Medicine should be conferred on Surgeon Thornton of
the North Regiment. The Registrar was instructed to refer
the Faculty of the said College to the Bylaws with reference
to Graduation in Medicine agreed upon by the Senate
on the nineteenth of November, 1866, by which Bylaws
the Senate finds itself prevented from agreeing to the
above recommendation.

Application
for New
Diplomas
[/margin]

An application was made in behalf of Oliver
Thibode and Robert Thibode, Doctors of Medicine
in this University, that new diplomas should be
granted to them on the ground of their having lost by
fire the diplomas previously issued. It was agreed
to ascede to this application on the condition that
a note in Red ink should be written on the diplomas
stating the cause.

The meeting was closed with the benediction

This day the Senate met and was constituted. Present
the Principal in the chair, Professors Williamson, Mowat,
Murray, Bell and Mackerras.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and sustained.
