Matriculation Examination
in Medicine

An application was made by the Principal on
behalf of certain students of Medicine for the appointment
of a Medical Matriculation Examination. The Senate
appointed an Examination accordingly to take place
on Thursday, eighteenth instant, in the Convocation
Hall, beginning at ten o'clock forenoon, Samuel
Woods, Esq. M.A., to be Examiner, and candidates
to be admitted in accordance with the Act to amend
the Medical Act for Upper Canada, Victoria 29-30,
Chapter 54. The Registrar was instructed to send
an extract of this Minute to the Registrar of the
Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons at
Kingston.

The Senate adjourned till Tuesday, the
twenty-third instant, at twelve o'clock noon.

This day the Senate met and was constituted.
Present the Principal in the chair, Professors Williamson,
Mowat, Murray, Bell and Mackerras.

The Minutes of the previous Meeting were read
and sustained.

Matriculants in Medicine

The Report of the Examiner at the Medical
Matriculation Examination, held on the eighteenth instant,
was read, and in accordance with the same it was agreed
that the following gentlemen should rank, and they hereby
do rank, as Undergraduates: F.C. Wilson, R. H. Moore,
G.H. Denwoodie, T.H. Thornton, A.C. Fairbairn,
T. McCaffray, G.F. Herchimer.

Graduation in Arts

There was also read an Extract from the Minutes
of the Senatus, recommending the following gentlemen
for the Degree of Bachelor of Arts, David P. Niven,
Alexander Nicholson, William H. Fuller, Robert
Campbell, John F. Bain, James A Macdowall,
John H. Nimms. In accordance with this recommendation
the Senate resolved to confer, and hereby do confer
the Degree of Bachelor of Arts on these gentlemen.

The Senate, having received the necessary
recommendations, unaniminously resolved to confer.
