There was read a minute of a meeting
of the students held by appointment of Senatus
which the following Curators of the Reading
Room had been appointed viz. Hugh Taylor,
James Ross, William Stewart, Hugh McMillan,
J.R. Pollock.

ad eundem in chem.
& Eng lit.

In accordance with an applicaiton from J.
N. Taft the Senate agreed to count his attendance
of thirteen weeks at Syracuse University in chemistry
and English literature as part of the attendance required
of him in this University, so that he may
come up for examination in these subjects next
April.

It was agreed to consider at a subsequent
meeting the subject of granting degrees in Arts on
examination without the necessity of attendance in
the classes.

Mowat, Mackerras, Dupuis, Ferguson,
and Watson.

The minutes of the meeting held Dec. 15
were read and approved

in chemistry sustained

There was read a certificate bearing that the
Rev. John Gallaher had passed in the Chemistry
Class at Magee College, Ireland. This certificate was
sustained.

There was read an application from the Rev
D. Kelso for the degree of B.A. There were also
read certificates bearing that Mr. Kelso had passed
in philosophical and mathematical departments of
Glasgow University. The Secretary was instructed
to inform Mr. Kelso that in order to graduate he
