2^d mo 1^st 2^d mo 5^th day
Clear and cold: I went to Uncle William, called at Uncle
Saumels on my way down: William went fot me after
supper, we called at Belmont. Lucy weny called at
M. H. Briggs's in the morning, then on to Brook Grove: Joe
at Ben Millers all day helping him do some work.

2^d 6^th day
Clear and cold. William went to Washington.

3^d 7^th day
Clear and cold: father got home about 4 oclock; Lucy
came a little after, and William about eight
I think I have spent a toteralby good week, the
very much room for improvement yet: have been
quiet impatient sometimes, sh'd have resisted the [tempter?]
sometimes.

4^th 1^st day
Clear and cole. Charlie and Sarah little Lizzie and
Warrick Stabler here to dinner; Joe went to the
Brooke Grove dam, with Charlie and Warrick
skating, in the afternoon, William went to a meeting
of the military committee then to the skating: Phil
father went down to Evan [G?]ailers in the afternoon
home to supper.
