JUNE 8
67 degrees S.W. Clear & Cloudy
Lucy Stabler called for advice and
med: Went to office and to Dr Thomas'
to present for Mr Sleemans' child.
Sarah Hammond and Catherine Williams
at office for addvice. Afternoon took H. and the
children to Fulford to a "Rug Sewing"
party. After tea went again to see
Mr Sleeman's infant.

Saturday
JUNE 9
67 degrees Cloudy S.E.
Went to office in Express wagon. From there
to Dr Thomas' in J Jacksons' buggy. Sent
Charley to Riverside with "Frank" to
have him "turned out" for a few days
rest and pasture: he brought "old Kate"
home in his place. I feel some anxiety
about Frank lest he may be
getting "locked jaw" but it may be only
stiffness from his recent injury in the foot.

Sunday
JUNE 10
69 degrees Cloudy S.W.
Fanny Coale (colored) called desireing me
to see her sister. Charley went early to Riverside
to see about poor "Frank". Went to see B.R. Roberts
Went to see Mr Sleeman's child.

Monday
JUNE 11
63 degrees Clear N.W.
Charley went to Riverside early
with Ernest. Leaving me the "brown colt"
My poor faithful "Frank" horse died
this morining of "locked jaw" and was buried
(by son Charley) by the side of "old Duke"
I am more grieved by the occurance than
I could have believed possible. Afternoon
went with Thos Miller to Brighton & "Crowtown"
Evening, some young people called and spent
an hour or two with us.
