Afternoon Alice Peirce brought Dora home Mrs: Robison came in: it was the first time I had seen her since i was taken sick. I also wound the "old clock" for the first time for eleven weeks, & was suprised to feel the weights so heavy.

Cloudy & Clearing Ther. 33o TUES. NOV. 28th, 1893 Wind N.W. Last night was terribly stormy commencing to rain & blow soon after dark, it continued with much violence until near morning. I could not sleep until after day-light. It must have been a fearful night for sailors who chanced to be "off our coast" at sea. After noon I came down stairs and ______H Smith came to see me & get a card of admission to the charity "Eye Ear & Throat Hospital" in Balto: which I gave him. without much hope of his being materially benefited by it. "John" came to see me again just after "Smith had gone. Edwd rode "Frank" to Olney to get some oysters.

Cloudy Ther. 31o WED. NOV. 29th, 1893 Wind S.E. Cloudy again, but has not the dull depressing feeling we have had so much of lately. Dora was busy cleaning up the dining room when cousin Martha Lea called to see me after meeting: I went down and quite a pleasant call from her. After noon cousin Hannah Chandlee was here. Charles Stabler was here to see me & sat an hour or so. Mary E. Gilpin also called. The wind has been S. E. all day but clear and bright. I fear however it will not continue fair weather.

Clear & Cloudy Ther. 32o FRI. DEC. 1st, 1893 WindS.E. Clear early this morning but clouded up & rained fora a short time about ten o'clock, after which it partly cleared but was mostly cloudy the rest of the day. Afternoon W "Len" Purvis & wife brought their little daughter "Grace" to consult me for an irruption that had troubled for her for some time. Ole Uncle Henson was here to see me. Edwd rode Frank over to Riverside to enquire for his aunt Lizzie, who has been quite poorly but is better today.

Clear Ther. 28o SAT. DEC. 2d, 1893 Wind N.W. Much colder this morning. Mrs: Rodney Boswell sent her little boy with butter (1/2 lb) "John" came to help Edward get the corn fodder hauled over from the field opposite the house across the turnpike: they borrowed Henderson's cart & used "Frank". Edwd first riding over to Bentley's and paying for another "shock" of fodder. they continued until they hauled the second shock. Afternoon John went to Riverside & brought the "phaeton" home. Fanny Peirce came and made a call & after taking their horse & carriage over to "Homewood" for Alice to take home, she walked back here to spend the night: After tea Mrs: Robison came in & sat a while with us.

Rain Sleet & Snow Ther. 30o SUN. DEC. 3rd, 1893 Wind N.E. Commenced storming about mid night last & this morning the ground is covered with sleet & snow. It is too disagreeable for any one to go out of doors except in cases of necessity or for those who feel it their duty to attend some place of worship and one would think the might worship acceptably at home if they desired to do so. Towards night it rained violently several times. "Phil" took Mr: Thom to the railroad through all the storm: he came back here on his way to Benj Miller's to put the horse away calling to borrow a lantern & get Frank to go with him, when it was "pitch dark" & pouring rain.

Cloudy & Snow Ther. 29o TUES. DEC. 8th, 1893 Wind N.W. Cloudy early this morning and commenced snowing about 10. o'clock & settled into a regular old fashioned snow storm continuing all day: Samuel Hopkins (colored son of "Ned") was here & I extracted a tooth for him. Mrs Eliza Moore called at the office porch & left some things with Dora. Towards evening the snow had accumulated so as to make it disagreeable getting about out of doors & very little more would make sleighing. It cleared off before sunset and will be cold tonight.
