Questions: F. A. Thomas: What is the price for cutting cord wood? $100 for chestnut, $135 hardwood Can I raise hogs in pasture without other feeds? Opinions very much divided, but Francis may try it

E. C. Thomas: Can old grapevines be moved? Yes. Cut then back

Wm J. Thomas had an inquiry for a vacant farm to be used this summer to provide occupations for homeless boys. None offered

G. A. Wilson asked about the cattle market. Not much prospect for a better market very soon

F. S. Thomas asked: What is the price for plowing open land? $350 to $500 an acre'?

S. P. Stabler: Is it too earley to sow oats? Sow when ground is warm

T. L. Jackson wants 5 berkshire pigs C. L. Gilpin has everbearing red raspverry plants

April 8th 1933.

The 808th meeting of the Enterprise Club met with F. L. Thomas on Saturday, April 8th 1933. Our walk took us to a field that was seeded three years ago to oats & various kinds of grass seed. The grass got a very poor start during that dry year, but will soon be a good sod At supper time T. L. Jackson & M.J. Stabler were the only absent members. T.A Barnsley, J. N. Bentley, R. Brigham, C.F. & T. Brooke, C. E. Connor, M.T. Cissell A. D. Farquhar, T. Hyde, J. W.Jones, M. Kirk T.A. Ladson, F. Miller, Mr. Marks & Wm J Thomas were guests

After super Wm Moore called the meeting to order, & the minutes of the march meeting were read, approved. The committee brung in names for the community Council nominated Thomas A. Ridgely , Tarlton Brooke & T. Yellot Canby for the three year terms. Wm Moore was made our representative on the Council, & F. A. Thomas + O. N. Stabler named delegate & alternate to the annual meeting. These names were approved. Mr. Hurrey read the Community Council report which was approved. Dr. Ladson announced the Horse Show meeting to be held at the Firehouse the night of April 26th. Crop prices were quoted as follows.

Wheat 68cts Apples $1 00

Corn $2 60 to $300 Potatoes 75cts

Hay $16 00

Cattle $4 75 to $5 50

Hogs $400 to $4 40

Lambs $7 00

F.L. Thomas: How should I treat fields to improve the stand of grass? Delay pasturing until grass is well started, Manure & use acid Phosphate

Fred was told he could disc his field for oats.

Mr. Hurry wants an old, cheap horse

E. C. Thomas reported on some government experiments with grass fed hogs. The costs of gain is as high as grain fed hogs. It takes longer & the hogs are less valuable

O. N. Stabler asked how many had done any gardening. Only 5 or 6 had

H. Miller was told to use acid phosphate on his lawn.

J. N. Bentley is seeding his place to blue grass How much land is needed for each steer? 2 to 3 acres per steer.

T. A. Barnsley. Can I pasture a barley field now? To do it now would damage the crop.

P.G. Ligon: Will the reforestation work by the unemployed be done on private land? Only in national & state forests

A. Stabler. Should I dry feed my cattle this summer, or turn on pasture with grain?

Wm Moore asked about the farm relief bill Rueben Brigham, who is in the Department of agriculture said its chief hope is its flexibility, but the Secretary of agriculture has a difficult job administrating it

May 13th 1933

The 809 th meeting of the Enterprise Club met with George A. Willson & sons on May 13th 1933 The flock 0f 2500 barred rocks of various sizes was inspected. We were told that this part of the farm paid fairly well this year. After a delicious homegrown supper the meeting was called to order by Wm Moore. This was a very small meeting as Milton Bancroft, G.R. Canby, C.L Gilpin, C. B. Hurry, P.G Ligon, M.J. Stabler, + E. C., F. A, & F. L. Thomas were absent. Guests were R. H. Chichester, A. D. Farquhar, T. Hyde, Ed Snowden & Albert Stabler Jr.

After both sets of minutes were read & those of the April meeting approved, the community Council report was approved.

Crop prices were called for & listed:

Wheat 91 cts Hogs $4 75 to $ 5 10

Corn $ 3 00 Lambs $ 7 75 to $ 8 00

Hay $ 16 00 Apples$ 1 00 to $ 1 35

Cattle $5 50 Potatoes 60 cts

G. A Wilson Has rye & barley in his alfalfa field hay again this year Why? It is thought he grain matured about the time the hay was cut, & shattered & & reseeded itself.

F F. Wilson. How long shall I continue feeding my cattle? Sell in the next two weeks.

T Hyde: What shall I use as a supplement to corn in feeding hogs? Fishmeal or Tankage

Would you plant corn after June 10th? Yes. A. D. Farquhar How soon should I sheer my sheep? Wait until the weather gets warm.

What is the best way t inoculate soy beans? Get the regular inoculation, or use
