Mrs. Lucy Moore - How much timothy seed should be
sown to 1 acre? - 1 bu. to 6-8 acres? one
consider 1 bu. to 10 acres enough.
Question No. 2 How can one get rent from a colored
tenant - No answer.
Question No. 3. Has anyone a 50 lb. lard can, or a
5 gal. milk can for sale? The former can be
purchased at the Sanitary Grocery at Olney.
Osborn Stabler reminded the Home Interest
that the Sandy Spring Volunteer Fire Co.
Supper & Pageant Takes place Aug. 27th, and
that the time of each member of this Society
should be devoted to advancing the interests
of this valuable organization throughout the day.
Florence Bond wants a second hand bicycle,
Margaret Fussell candy boxes for the Firemens Supper
Maurice Stabler thinks Gov. Ritchie has the
best idea yet advanced to relieve the farmers
- i.e lend them money at a minimum rate
of interest to pay taxes & expenses through the
winter which promises to be a hard one for them.
Elizabeth Ligon has evergreens which look
very sad shall she continue watering them? Yes
Sallie Brooke asked how many of those present
had had laid in a supply of canned goods for
use this winter? Lucy Moore & Maurice Stabler,
Albert Stabler asked if any one had had trouble
with ground hogs in their vegetable gardens?
