Mr. Arthur Brown
Dear Sir:-
Your letter dated March 15. is at hand. I am somewhat relieved by its contents from the fear that the workmen would not be out of the house at Palo Alto on our arrival, as you say they will be through by April 1st. I hope the stairs are finished to that inaccessible

room. I have wondered if you had that little out house built, for the convenience of the men-servants, for that is really very necessary. If you have not had it done, I think by conversing with Mr. Ferguson, he will tell you what Mr. Stanford's ideas are in regard to it. It was to be placed near the creek, conveniently close to the house, and a little lattice work
around it to hide it from view. I do not desire the closets in the house to be used by the men servants except in cases of sickness. It is possible you may have had this done, which I hope is the case.
Many thanks for your letter and your endeavor to have everything done in a manner satisfactory to Mr. Stanford & myself.
Yours Respectfully.
Jane. L. Stanford
