My Dear Loy

How time does fly for Friday will
be your twenty sixth birthday. I can't realize where
time is going, as the last two years and a half have
gone so quickly by, that I still think of both of our ages
as the same, as when I left Madison. I am going
to wait until I come home to give you your birthday
present instead of sending something. Your letter came
Monday and I enjoyed it immensely, as you write just
as you talk and tell me all the little things I enjoy
hearing. Shaw! I wish you could have come West
as this is just the time of year to see California and
I wish you could see Stanford while I am here. It
would do you lots of good too to take a trip like that. I
have a new scheme now for going home. I may go
by boat from San Francisco to Portland, then by rail
to Tacoma and Seattle, then go out to Spokane and
visit Tom Watson, then up through the Cour de d'Alene
mining region and see Uncle Bills silver mine -
