3:22 Wakeup. Rest

~4:00 or so

Pretty wide awake. Rest in bed. Think. Was it the coffee & cookie around 5:30? Should I go to LA? I want to go some where. Realize that I primarily just want to go to READ. So should I spend all that money for LA. Maybe go to Portland & buy SUNBOX in Eugene? Or just Vancouve, but that's pretty much too much like last year's beginning. I don't want to drive to Portland in the rain.

Well maybe I should go to SF or Oakland, at least en route to LA, since

I have friends there - my "business" is there. And see "HERO"

I could check out if South Beach has improved.

But I'm not ready to move anywhere yet, as I want to travel to NYC & Hawaii first. Called SF weather clouddy tomorrow, chance rain. And its $335 to SF or 345 to Oak vs 366 to LA.

I haven't been to LA since June.

It's around 75 and sunny there.

I've told Mom, Dad, Mark M, Ben & Ken I'm going.

How much would I miss Seattle if I did move, not just temporarily every month, but semi-permanently?

I like only Stevens & Baker (no nights, only weekends)

Crystal is not for intermediate, esp at night

Snoqualmie/Alpental is boring.

White Pass is pretty far. So is Mission R.

Have been pretty lonely, but not BAD - I just haven't met anyone to date regularly. But is that ok (HEAVY TURBULENCE JUST NOW)

Anyway it doesn't matter yet anyhow. TRAVEL!

10:15 Out to Cheers. Not very busy. Swing by Gold Coast, Rafrews, Eagle. Not me. But Spike has some good hunks. Fun music. Alternate 7-up & Whiskey & 7. Meet Peter Verano. Go home. Nice house, dog, fireplace, body, etc. Very good time. I wanted to get more sleep last night but Spike was fun, so I'll have to put it off.

Wake up. Very old fashioned feeling sleeping in on a sunny Sunday morning, ala ABO. Mess around again. Small breakfast. Peters'friendly and funny, 5'7" Italian. Very well-mannered retriever, YO. Back at Mondrian, shave

11:30 Down to pool to read Chap 2 of Bonfire. Pretty pleasant. Guy looking like Jim Ap shows up. Very good pasta salad with seafood.

1:15 Gets cool. Go in & guy & friend follow. Name is John. Asks me in elevator if I'm enjoying. In room read Chap 3, which Bob read to me on New Years.

2:30 Get ready. Go to WHAC. Good arms workout, but a bit slow, fatigued. Friendly Alan, Realtor. Saw Don from P. Spr. briefly. Told him I saw Fab Parakeets New Years. Some other nice looking guys, but I'm too tired to be interested. No shower there, but attractive guy but he's got sideburns! Older guy too. After satisfaction last night, I've no interest.

5:00 Start watching Ziegfeld Story. Fanny Brice. So much like Barbara Streisand. Lots of commercials, so read Chap 10-16 of After Trade is Made. Fills in a few more gaps.

8:45 Gotten bowl. Have cereal for dinner. -----

9:15 Read pages 91-102 of Bonfire Chap 4 which I didn't read Bob on N Years Eve.

9:15 Head out via Sunset Blvd to Pac Stk Exch. Long trip, through East LA, East of 101.

10:00 Spend hour. Make notes. Discover there are 2 trading floors with options in SF.

11:00 Snack. Think more about worth of trading options.

11:15 Head out to Arrowhead/Big Bear. But didn't feel I was escaping at all, as from SF to Tahoe. Lunch at Spiros in Fontana. Indirect route. Bonfire. Loop around Arrowhead. Pretty small, cramped. Saw Chateau Du Lac, near Blue Jay. A lot like Medina, or Samamish, Thrifty Dog. East to Big Bear. Busy traffic. Think about how rare millionaires are. 1/1000? See Snow Valley. Cheap lodge, with used formica tables in bar & ratty arpet, but looks like quite a few runs & night skiing

4:30 Off to Big Bear Lake. Much more impressed. See snow summit. Many lifts but cheap lodges. Have hot choc, frangelica & whiskey. Two lodges.

5:45 Sea lake again just as it gets dark. Pretty big.

6:00 Dinner at Spag & Steak House. Consider going back tomorrow, so

I could see Big Bear Lake again, but only for 15 min & loop around

I could ski

but I have no ski pants, gloves, neck gator and I just went last Thursday besides not having my own equipment and no dry jeans to wear afterwards.

And I'd rather drive back when it's dark.

7:00 But I would like to see it & drive around it. Nothing pressing to do tomorrow morning in LA. A bit shy about driving mountain unknown roads at night, and it'd sound better to say I spent the night there, not just day trip. And I've drive so much today. And sort of want to see the drive back to Hwy 10 so check into Wishing Well Motel
