Text of Petition: 11-1-1803-1 State of Tennessee} Sumner County} Is the Honorable Senate and House of Represention of the State of Tennessee now in Session - WE the subscriber Citizens of the Town of Gallatin in the County aforesaid ^& its vicinity -^ impress-ed with a Belief that an Independent Company of Infantry, in said Town would be conducive to the good order and Discipline of the County, do pray that your Honorable Body may enact a law to that affect under such Rules & Regulations as your Honorable Body may judge proper and your petitioner as in duty bound will ever pray &c ~ Gallatin 28th September 1803

Text of Petition: 13-1-1803-1 The Petition of Archibald Roane To the Honble The General Assembly of the State of Tennessee sheweth That in transacting the business of his Office for two years past he has been Obligd to advance divers sums of money for Postage &c As those expences have been incurred for the Benefit of the State, he prays that the Honble General Assembly would take the subject into consideration, and make such provision for the repayment of the money so by him advanced as to them may seem right, agreeably to the receipts herewith transmitted.
