Mon 29 The morning is a little cloudy & cool wind form the N. W.
The boy George has been marking & altering our shotes for
several days he has
I think it is too wet to plow or plant this morning I have
direct to have some wood halled up
[Left margin: Self / Shaved &c ] I shaved & put on a clean shirt & socks & washed my feet. It
[Left margin: Wood] has turned much warmer this evening halled some wood fro Press
& me. The ground is verry wet, the boys went to plowing after
dinner.

Tue 30th During the night there was a very considerable thunder storm
[Left margin: Storm & Rain] & a heavy rain from the N. & W. This morning the Wind is
from the E. This morning Margaret went on a visit to her Mothers
[Left margin: Mag to Lawrence] Went in the Bugga & drove the rone Mare Jinna 7 A. M.
[Left margin: Rain] Morning. (too wet to work in the Crop) It clouded up thundered
& commenced rain at 10 oclock, at 12 it is still Raining, at 2
still Raining hard, dark & cloudy, at 3 heavy wind and rain N
of West, 4½ still raining, (4 3/4 quit raining the wind N. E.
& E. It has rained 6½ hours & part of the time verry hard today.

1867 May 1st Wed. [Left margin: Rain / Mag] The morning is quite cool Wind from the N. & mostly clear.
It commenced rain last night at sun-down & has rained nearly
all night. It is too wet to work in the crops. Margaret left
yesterday for Lawrence & was in the rain yesterday, I think all
day.
