Fearing her eyes are yet too weak to do nice work I have not yet given her yours - I will get them done as soon as I possibly can. Mr [Bourta?] will go today & I hope assoon as I can to get regularly to work again. I again repeat my offer to have your dresses, muslin, or any other washing done for you which Ellen can not do. If your children have measles I will send you Clementine - unless she is laid up at the time - which frequently happens when I most require her services. The only important work I have for her to do is Floyds shirts. but that must not be considered if you need her services to help nurse those precious children---
I have this day sent in my [?ness] to Mr Anderson as he offered to try & get a loan for me. I earnestly hope he will be able to do so that I may pay dear William for his aid last year. I have named the amount due to William on that account. He can see Mr Anderson and if he has raised the money for me claim the 500 due him. I did hope that in January dear Butler would have got the money due in California - it has not yet come & may be months yet coming My whole crop sold for $5.200 which by no means covered what I owed Anderson. Money Money Great Father how much trouble it does cause.
I found more thread than I could possibly require for all the work to be done before you come so I send back a part - Remember I owe you
needles & I dare say thread - I wish you would let me know when you require grist - I would send a barrel today - but have none ground & Butler is so busy cracking cotton seed I did not ask him as you said you would let me know when you were out. I send all the eggs I can now spare. the hens do not lay well - but set admir -rably. so that I have to keep them supplied ---
I send you by Lord 20 which I beg you will [fi?] pay what I owe for the [conn?] &c you I begged you to get in my last letter. Keep the balance to get what I may require you to select.
I earnestly hope my beloved child you will not delay your return until May. I do so long to see you all. God! grant all may return to me.
