Tuesday 1 Novr 1859 shucked corn Halled wood with 4 Wagons still cold

Wednesday 2 Novr 1859 shucked corn + Halled wood thir is the 6th cold + frosty moing we have had in succepiow ludrau Summer

Saturday 5 Novr 1859 been Shucking cown all this week still Ludan Summer Frosty mornings + smaky deep dry weather

Monday 7 Novr 1859 commenced pulling corn in House field + halling Stalk fodder still call mornings + smooky days dry weather no rain for 3 weeks

Thursday 10th Novr 1859 Finidhes Halling in stalk Fodder to day we cut off 55 Acres and had about 50 Wagon Loads peit it in aeer new Barn it is now full in every part 40 Loads pea vines + 50 loads stalk fodder all verry fine + brighd fodder the best I have ever had the conuiee The houre fued is verry ghost we have not made more thaw too Bee au55 Acres

Monday 14 Novr 1859 yesterday Sunday was verry cold + windy cold this mowing thu 22 shucked cown + halled wood verry dry no wain for 4 weeks

Tuesday 15 Novr 1859 shucked cown halled rails from Germany with our wagon our wagon halled roades off the grafs lat at Tatems put away 13 Bu fresh RaIdtos for seed in a heloin the Latems smoke house gusts cool + dry

Wednesday 16 Novr 1859 shucked corn

Saturday 19th Novr 1859 Finished Shucking our Corn we made about 1500 Bu corn lefs than half a crop we lave on hand mow aboug 1600 Bu corn 100 bu old cown put away cabbage we have more then 1000 good heads besides 5 Barrels crout

Monday 21 Novr been halling chesntul raild from Germany for a week with one Team we halled 1130 rails Rained in afternoon the first wagon in 5 weeks cleaned off niauni

Tuesday 22 Novr 1859 Commenced plowing in Cassel field for corn with 3 Two horn Yarn plowr the other hands ditching in the same field to drain a wet place near where the old house stood we cut a ditch 50 yds long 3 ft deep + N stwide put in about 40 loads of 100ks skilled it up sowed orchard in spring wheat

Saturday 25 Novr 1859 been plowing + clitching since Tuesday

Monday 27 Novr 1859 rained today

Thursday 28 Novr 1859 ground too wet to plow commenced making feney towards lord of cedar creek cove in morning but fine day for work

Wednesday 30 Novr 1859 cool but nice day for work commenced plowing again in the cassel Field for corn with 3 plows the other hands chopping + lawing feneu with down the creek for a pasture

Thursday 1st Dec 1859 warm + nice for work plowed and choped as yesterday

Friday 2 Dec 1859 still warm worked as yesderday except the little hands they are halling rock from the field + paving the Barn yard to keep the mud from moring our stock this winter

Saturday 3 Dec 1859 rained all day have no work out

Monday 5 Dec 1859 still raining

Tuesday 6 Dec 1859 still strugling rain + fogy

Wednesday 7 Dec 1859 still raining in showers + wanm but in the eveing wind changed to the North + begins to get cold down little work fence friday last

Thursday 8th Dec 1859 Cleared off last nighd and quite cold + windy this morning ground froze ther at 19 this morning

Friday 9th Dec 1859 Cold this morning Ther 14 Killed 30 Hogs washed 4800th the most of them about 15 months old

Saturday 10th Dec 1859 not so cold Ther 24 Healled wood choped + salted the pork

Saturday 17th Dec 1859 Been moderately cool all the week been chopping + Halling wood and splitting rails in the woods along the creek Rained last night haild + snowed some rained until noon today + stoped

Wednesday 21 Dec 1859 rained yesterday again done but still work to day made fence towards creek

Thursday 22 Dec 1859 choped + halled wood from the cassel pasture quite cold all day

Friday 23 Dec 1859 choped + halled wood quite cold all day Ther 22 sunrise

Saturday 24th Dec 1859 still cold choped + halled wood guiu all hands hollow day until Thurdsay morning next

Monday 26 Dec 1859 Turned warm yesterday and spoiled the dec to we could not hall to day as we intended

Tuesday 27 Dec 1859 warm + nice today

Wednesday 28 Dec 1859 rained last night + cloudy to day but no raine same cooled

Thursday 29 Dec 1859 all hands went to work This morning but pots raining + sleeting this morning + by moon the trees were loded with ice

Friday 30th Dec 1859 twees loaded with ice this morning but melted by moon nice + warm in afternoon commenced toping our shade trees around store + negro Kitchens

Saturday 31st Dec 1859 Commenced snowing at 11 ock to day + snowed with night + stoped it is perhaps 4 in deep Ther 32 all day

Monday 2nd January 1860 Cold this morning Ther 11 Deg above zero snow some 4 in deep on the ground verry cold all day We commenec the new year with John Pots auersees hired at $200 year negroes Danil Jack George Anda Jerry Luke Sicgarus good hands and many + Caroline Chamenl and Little Geog + Henry boys 8 good hands + 4 sorry 12 hands in all we have 6 work mules 2 work horses & Two geese Horse colds one uding horse + old Ball 4 Live geon old mules + 4 one year old mules + one Jenny 3 gnald making 21 Horses + mules with feed plenty to feed Them except corn which is scarce we have 50 head of cattle 45 sheep 80 or so head of hogs + 30 goats we have got 95 Acres sown in wheat 15 acres in Rye 12 acres in winter Oats we have 100 Acres to Saw in Spring Oats and exgect to pland 110 Acres in Corn we have about 75 acres of the corn ground broke up last fall we have on hand about 1100 Bu corn we have on hand about 1000 Bu wheat (2 crops) expect John Charles stowe bay + Mrs Cuthrell staying with family and 30 negros large + small in all 39

Tuesday 2 January 1860 verry cold Ther 5 Deg above zero on west side of the store house + on the north side was at zero at sunrise This morning Healled Ice from 2 to 3 in thick halled 35 loads half 2 horse + half 4 horsu loads verry nice les house more than half full or weseman + Aer Charles helped us

Wednesday 4 Jany 1860 Ther at 12 Deg this morning Halled Ice all day with 4 wagons got the house nearly full some warmer in aftesnoon Snow melted some but quite cold at nighd

Thursday 5 Jany 1860 cold + windy this morning Ther 18 Killed 12 hogs to day washing 1627 the making in all 42 hogs killed this year weighing 6427 lbs let pots have own hog 154ths

Friday 6 January 1860 Cold this morning Ther 12 Deg Halled 9 loads of Ice 4 1/4 in thick our house is now nealy full more ice in it than we have ever had in in at one time (76 loads) in the aftesnoon we choped down the mud road

Saturday the 7th January 1860 raining and sleeting this morning ground + trees sheeted with ice and still sleeting

Monday 9 January 1860 cleared off warm verry mudy choping along mud road cutting out the under growth in the woods pasture

Saturday 14th Jany 1860 rained yesterday + To day worked Barn verry mudy

Monday 16 Jany 1860 cleared off yesterday nice + warm made fence along lane towards creek

Tuesday 17 Jany 1860 raining hard this morning stoped + cleared off by 10 oclk went to choping

Tuesday 24 Jany 1860 still fine weather finished the pasture fenec along creek started 3 two horse turn plows in the cassel field plowing for corn

Wednesday 25th Jany 1860 still fine + nice weather run 3 farm plows in cassel field Planted one Bu Iridh Potatoes but manure in bottom of Tw furrow and droped the potatoes on it Two hands making plank fence at Barn

Thursday 26 Jany 1860 Finished breaking cassiefed for corn + commenced in cherry orchard for corn

Saturday 28 Jany 1860 plowed today + yesterday in cherry orchard for corn + halled wood got nearly sone cherry orchard

Monday 30 Jany 1860 commenced plowing in the Fulford field for corn with one Turn plow + one Auhrail plain the other hands sitching + halling wood still verry fine for busings

Tuesday 31 Jany 1860 plowed until noon it There commenced raining + stoped us sent 75 by white wheat to clouded mill Lulat clouse 100 bu at 110 bu so ends Larry up to the 14 we done but still work since that the weather has been fine + made fence we have plowed 9 days + halled a good chance wood
