Dr. Lars Smith,
San Francisco, Cal.
My dear Sir:—

I beg to thank you must sincerely for your
letter of November 20th, expressing your approval
of my action in the Hillstrom case. It is a source
of satisfaction to know that the right-thinking
people of the country are supporting the officials
in their efforts to maintain law and order. In
handling this case, I did only what I regarded as my
plain and simple duty and am grateful that my action
meets with your approval.

Again thanking you for your cordial expressions.
I am

Cordially yours,

Governor.
