For the purpose of encouraging agriculture in all its varieties, the undersigned have associated themselves together as a society and adopt the following

Jan. [1837]

Constitution

1. This society shall be called the "Milwaukee County Agricultural Society"

2. Any person residing in the county of Milwaukee may become a member of this society by signing the constitution, and paying annually the sum of one dollar, and honorary members may be 3. admittedly a vote at the society—

There shall be an annual meeting of this society held at Milwaukee on the first Tuesday of the transacting such other business as may be deemed necessary: and the President shall give at least three weeks public notice of the time and place of holding said meetings.

4. The officers of the society shall be a President, three Vice Presidents, a Secretary, +corresponding secretary, a Treasurer, and Seven Directors who shall hold their offices for one year and until their successors are dually elected: They shall not be entitled to any com= =pensation for their reviews: And they shall together con= =stitute a Board of Directors to manage the affairs of the society. [illegible] of whom shall constitute a quorum for 5 [illegible] [illegible]—

It shall be the duty of the President, or in his absence of a Vice President to preside at all meeting of the Society and of the Board of [Managers] Directors.

It shall be the duty of the Secretary to keep a record of the proceedings of the society and of the Board of Directors.

It shall be the duty of the Treasurer to cllect and take charge of the funds of the societyl to pay the same on the order of the Presidentl and to report to the Board of Directors when by then required the state of the funds. He shall give bond to the satisfaction of said Board for the faithful performance of his duties as Treaurer.

No member shall be alowed to vote at any meeting of the society who is in [illegible] with the Treasurer.

9.

This constitution may be amended at any annual meeting, two thirds of the members present voting for such amendment.

The offeecers elected at this meeting to continue in office until the first annual meeting
