My dear Miss Lapham:
Thank you very much for sending me the photograph of your father; also the geological map of Wisconsin.
I shall take great pleasure in having the picture placed among those of the state geologists in the geological department.

Feb. 16-1910
Some of the sweetest memories of my childhood, are those connected with Mr. Lapham and his family in Milwaukee. Ms. Lapham was a school mate of my mother's, in Rochester New York, & they were always close friends.
Mr. Lapham's fine cabinet of minerals, Indian relics of very early days, and many curious, was

a never-ending source of delight to us all, and we were rarely happier than when allowed to wander in this place & feast our eyes.
Such was our high regard for him, that we never thought of touching an article. Then there were the [parties?] for the children, when

3. Mr. Lapham was the center of attraction, entering into all of our joys.
Here we used to play childish games of all kinds, and were so small, we had to stand on chairs, when playing "The needle's eye", to let the others pass under our clasped hands, each our looking up expectantly

4. Hoping to be chosen, until the are all "loved the best", reached the spot when down came the arms and we exchanged places with a kiss. Mr. Lapham used to hold our interest with his quaint, beautiful stories as long as he was willing to tell them. After the games, came supper,
