Miss Mary Lapham. Oconomowoc, Wis.

My dear Miss Lapham:-

We had a very pleasant trip homeward after you and your [illegible] bode no good bye at the [illegible] Oconomowoc station in the early evening of Monday, August 8th.

We have spoken a number of times of the very enjoyable visit we had with you, & the walk, the trip & the lakes, and best of all

2. of the hospitable reception you gave our numerous party in your pleasant home.

We should have written sooner; but the family has been away in part on in whole, much the time at our camp station of the Lake-and then I have had is in mind that in [illegible] place your [articles?] to receive one of the photographs taken of the party at the recent field meeting of the Archaeological Society.

Mr. Nielson, the photographer who had the large camera, has developed three plates, one of the group

3. at the best manned, one of the group & at the steps, the library building just before starting for the [best?] [movement?] and one of the larger group on the [illegible] governors. It seemed to me that the middle one mentioned was the most [desirable?] because it contains such good like [illegible] of a number of our [friends?] such is not likely to get otherwise. But I have been wanting to see Mr. Nielson to see what others he may have developed, and also to take another look at the [illegible] ones.

As he lives in a distant part of the city and has no telephone. I had not seen him

You will both be pleased to learn that Mr. Brown says the officers of the Society have accepted an invitation to hold a field meeting next summer at Prairie du Chien.

One young friend M. Wallace returned to Chicago last Sunday from his vacation by Wisconsin lakes to [illegible] the intricacies of the law.

Helen is on another short visit at Cedarbury while the remainder of us are about home.

4. write today. I still like the library building group [& illegible] and got a second copy & [illegible] which I want to send to your sister, or a participant in the meeting with our compliments. Possibly he may be [illegible...] to prefer one? The other [views?] in which case I shall be happy to exchange this one; but if we hear nothing I-the contrary I will send this along presently.

I have been wanting to work out a key to the group, with the help of Mr. Brown, for my [summary?], and shall be glad to duplicate it for this copy we send to your sister.
