Sunday 2nd
fine day & Report that the Schooner we passed
yesterday was lost & Crew near the Harbour

Monday 3rd
Fine but Cold Still on board in Harbour

Tuesday 4th
At 10 a.m. had to walk up to the fronnt a distent
of 6 miles & over the Ancles in Mud & had to Carry
Our Beds &c & Carts for our Tools got up to the front
at 5 p.m. & had to go into a Tent which had only
been put the same day with Mud in them 3 Inch Deep
which we had to sleep on the Night Very windy

Wednesday 5th
Went down to Balaklava for some things which
were left all Night on the rock

Thursday 6th
Very Cold & Rain & at Night our Tent blew down
& we left under a Blanket

Wednesday 12th
Cold & Snow Very Deep & a Great Meney sick
