January 18: Barometer 30.00 to 30.10. 1st Asst Edward Rice left the station at 9 A.M. for Portland on important business.

19: Light wind and moderate breeze to gale South these 24 hours. First part of 24 hours. Last part of 24 hours hard rain. Sea rough. General duties for the day. Barometer 30.10 to 29.90. 2nd Asst working in his celler. Keeper Frank M. Plummer and 2nd Asst Bernard J. Bretherton cleaning lenns lamp the oil is very bad.

20: Moderate gale to fresh breeze South with hard rain these 24 hours. Sea quite rough. Barometer 29.80 to 30.10. 2nd Asst working in shop and celler. Keeper fileing saws in shop today.

21: Fresh to moderate breeze S. to S.W. & N. West these 24 hours. First part of 24 hours rain. Last part of 24 hours light rain showers. Sea moderately smooth. 2nd Asst working in shop. Barometer 30.36. Keeper went to Newport after mail & supplies.

22: Light N.W. to East wind these 24 hours with fair weather. SEa rough. Genera duties for the day. Barometer 30.40 today. 2nd Asst went to Newport after mail and supplies. Keeper cleaning lantern outside today.

23: Light wind S. East fair weather first part of 24 hours. Last part of 24 hours light wind to moder breeze South light rain. SEa smooth. 2nd Asst polishing agates. Steamer Weeott sailed from Yaquina for San Francisco. Barometer 30.20.

24: Light South wind light rain showers these 24 hours. Sea smooth. 2nd Asst working on agates in his celler. Keeper sorting over potatoes. Barometer 30.30. 1st Asst Edward Rice returned from Portland at 11:30 A.M. where he has been on important business.

25: Light South to variable winds these 24 hours first part of 24 hours light rain & fog showers. Last part of 24 hours thick fog & fair weather. Sea smooth. General duties for the day. 1st Asst hauling dressing up to the farden also went fishing on the rocks at the station. 2nd Asst went to Newport after supplies & mail. Baromoeter 30.35 today.

26: Light North wind these 24 hours thick fog. Sea quite rough. Barometer 30.30. Keeper and 2nd Asst scrubbing office hall and oil-room floors today. 2nd Asst also went over on the South beach for a walk.

27: Light North wind thick damp fog these 24 hours. General duties for the day. Sea quite smooth. Barometer 30.20 today.

28: Light North wind these 24 hours. First part of 24 hours thick fog. Last part of 24 hours fair weather. Sea quite smooth. 2nd Asst working in his quarters. Barometer 30.30. 1st Asst went to Newport after mail & supplies.

30: Light variable winds these 24 hours. First part of 24 hours thick fog showers. Last part of 24 hours fog showers and fair weather. Sea smooth. 1st Asst went fishing. 2nd Asst cutting and polishing water and other agates today.

31: Gale South to S.W. and W. N. West these 24 hours with frequent rain and ahil squalls. Sea very rough. Keeper making out monthly reports to Inspector & Engineer. 2nd Asst went to Newport to get supplies & get & post mail.
