Sat Oct 12 Very nice again. Dave went
and hunted up our stock and got them in
all but a spotted calf that we call Mastadon and
I dont know whether we will ever find him or
not. He picked some Ben Davis apples this afternoon
and I fixed the west box south of the house and set
it to tulips and that was about all that I did do.

Sun Oct 13 Fine again.
Dave went up to the ranch to day found
things tolerable fair. I kept Sun [Sunday] with Mother
Nancy Kendall and Ida Dotts but after dinner
I went to try to get a hand to help stack the
hay but couldnt get one. Ida run off a
couple of boys with a part of a sack full of
apples that they had stole from our orchard.

Mon Oct 14 Rather on the clear order but
most too Windy to haul hay so we done some other
jobs. Gathered apples some. Fixed for filling cistern
some. Cleaned the cistern out and I helped
at the threshing of the oats at Windy hill.
They measured 243 bushels and Mr Larimers share
was 81 bush [bushels].

Tues Oct 15 Just lovely. Dave and
John somebody hauled and stacked the hay from
north of the house 5 loads and then they hauled 2 loads
of punkins [pumpkins]. I filled the cistern with nice clear water
and picked 14 baskets of genetings and had
more bother with my innards a coming out
than I like.
