Wed Oct 23 Clear and pretty cool but it
seemed quite pleasant to what we had
expected. We emptied the potato sacks and
took them up to where Dixons were a digging
when we started for town. Went to see the
oculist to have him change my glassess [glasses]
and Dave had some errands to do. Got back
a little after noon then we weighed out 750
lbs of Ben Davis apples for John Riddle
and got the last of the Larimer potatoes to night.

Thurs Oct 24 Fine again. We
sorted for Mr Larimer 31 bush [bushels] of potatoes and
washed them and put them in the pit and
put straw over them but didnt put
dirt on them. I played out along towards
night and quit and went to the house.

Fri Oct 25 Clear and nice. Dave went
to town this morning to see some folks that
want Bellflowers but didnt sell any more.
I got a letter from Mr Butler of Denver. He
says that he can get us 4 cts [cents] a pound for
Bellflowers but we cant get barrells [barrels] in
town now. We washed the little
potatoes and put them in the
cellar and put in twelve bushels of large
ones that I got of Mr Larimers share.

Sat Oct 26 Cloudy and very windy this
afternoon. Mother and Dave went to town with
the butter and some Bellflowers for Mr Heath.
Got home just chore time. I husked corn until I
quit on account of the wind.
