Wed May 31 A nice day once more.
The boys finished fixing the fence and spraying
the fruit trees and irrigated the strawberry patch.
I irrigated all day up at windy hill commenced
this morning with 33 inches in the headgate
and finished to night with 17 inches.

Thurs June 1 Pretty fair mostly but
got sort of squally towards night and rained
a little here and considerable in a few miles
south and east of here. The boys plowed out
some of the truck patches. I irrigated the
ballance [balance] of the ten acre piece and shut the
water off then hoed corn a little.
Now to day [today] is the first of June the grass
is just starting a little but not enough to
change the color of the prairys [prairies] much or to
afford much feed. The wheat and oats are
very backward and the ground is mighty dry
and I am afraid that feed will be scarce
this season.

Fri June 2nd Mostly clear and quite
warm. Lew went over to work on the flume.
Kib went to town and this afternoon helped
to hoe. I tried to irrigate with 15 inches to
the share this morning on the native
meadow and this afternoon found the
water 8 inches higher in the morning and
25 at 5 O clock PM so it gave us about
19 inches to share without changing the
gate any.
