NOVEMBER 2. Sat Pretty nice day if you didnt look at the ground but that was awful muddy and the snow mostly melted off. We separa [separated] Net and her colt this morning with a view of weaning him. Lew went and hunted up Billy. Found him down near Frank Mechands. I worked at choring around the barn and yard.

NOVEMBER 3. Sun Pretty darned sloppy to day. It snowed pretty near two inches last night and some of it thawed to day. Lew and Mr Lewis went out into the Box Elder country hoping to kill some rabbits. Got a few. I fussed around down at the barn awhile and kept Sunday some. Dave come home to night. Got home after we were in bed. He looks old fashioned and quite well I think.

NOVEMBER 4. Mon Nice day over head but quite muddy under foot. We husked or rather snapped off some corn for the hogs. Then worked at spreading out the hay that Mr Dixon and Will put up to try to keep it from spoiling. Then we fixed the boat for winter and after that we hauled manure.

Tues NOVEMBER 5. Clear all day and quite cold and mud till you cant rest. Lew and Dave went up to Stout. Lew to vote and Dave to see the hill ranch. They have not got back yet. I went to town to the election and gassed about awhile and got home about a couple O clock. The boys got home all right and brought old Kate and her colt home with them.

NOVEMBER 6. Wed Very nice to day and is beginning to dry up a little in some places. Lew hauled some alfalfa seed over to town in the forenoon and in the afternoon cleaned out the cistern etc. Dave went on a visit to Charleys and Reas's folks. I chored around at various things in the forenoon and shucked corn up in the windy hill stockyard in the afternoon.

NOVEMBER 7. Thurs Cloudy cold and raw with considerable North wind. Cleared off just at night. Lew took the ballance [balance] of the alfalfa seed I mean Mr Larimers part and bought back a little coal. I pitched over the hay in the correll [corral] and husked corn some and just at night started the water to running into the cistern. Frank and Susan Shafer have come tonight.
