to take a run and jump at themselves. Wrote up diary in a cafe in Fare. Met the boys (Bill Elliot, Jack Presley, Dick Sias) at the station. Had no trouble in getting on the train for Paris. The boys had some grub and we had a feed on the train. Arrived in Paris 11:20 Went to the Houssman Hotel and got a room (107) with Bill Elliot.

Wendesday August 15, 17.

Had breakfast in bed. Got up late & had a fine dinner at Picardos. Went out to Rue 45 Avenue Montaigue and saw Van Zandt in his new office. Saw Higgens & Wheeler. They passed their phisical ex for aviation. Very happy. Looked over the Arch of Triamph. Went back to

Tom Manton. Beautiful moonlight night. Came home by Pont Arcy with Gennings to show him the road. Coming home from Braine we saw a fire at Mt. Notre Dame so drove over there, and found that six barricks had burned. The fire started in the opperating room. Much heavy artillery on the road for a new offensive.

Tuesday Oct. 30 '17.

Finished fixing up our place in the barricks. Put the stove up, shelves, and curtened the place off with canvas. Had supper in the barricks. Jack Presley came down in the evening and we played "five hundred."

Worked all day cleaning car for inspection tomorrow.
