Larrie had his nerve with him as he climed into another machine and lachid. His monitor told him that he had better do it before Davidson got ahold of him, as he might radiate him.

Dan Currier had a forced landing on his voyage, and coundn't get over some trees, and had to make a sharp turn and land in a wheat field. He got out of it with a skinned nose. Another fellow hit the top of some trees and turned a somersalt in the air and hit on the nose of his machine. Dan Currier came back after smashing his second machine on voyage. Herb. Kendall left for Paris.

Thursday July 11, '18.

Lt. Kelly was killed on the field this evening in a Nieuport.

Friday July 12 ‘18.

Still stormy. Had an inspection by the inspector general in the rain this afternoon. I am mighty anxious to get out of here. We are being “ridden” as if we were Boche prisoners, or even worse. I can now see why some officers only go over the top once, and never come back.

voyage this afternoon. He started out with a rotery Rhone 90h. motor. He took off over the hangers and Sopwith planes and got up about 30 ft. when his motor died and he fell on a wing between two Sops, smashed his machine all to pieces, but didn't touch a Sop. He wasn't hurt at all, but it took two men to pull him out of the wreckage. Pete Winship got into a wingslip near the ground while landing when on his [deletion] voyage and smashed completly. He got a bad cut over the eye. Dan Currier, had another forced landing. This is the third time that he has started on his voyage. These machines are certainly deathtraps. They are all worn out, and you can never tell when the motor is going to quit. Under these circumstances you feel like letting the Major and his cohorts kick you out. Which they are trying their best to do. They watch every move
