New York. -- After a fine fast run from Chaumont we arrived at Tours at 9:50. Left Tours at 11 o'clock for St. Pierre, left St. Pierre at 12 o'clock on the Bordeaux express for Partiers. Got into Partiers at 1:45. Had a wonderful time there. Bummed around with Perc Brown.
Monday May 29, '18.
Left Partiers at 7:17 for St. Maxient. Arrived at 9 o'clock. All the boys that were left greeted us with open arms. The place is beautiful. A real transformation has taken place while we were gone. All the shade trees are covered with leaves, everything is green. The new Y.M.C.A. is completed, and it is a dandy. One bad feature is that Capt. Velsey is our C.O. But I am fortunate enough to get away from him by getting on the M.P. force along with eleven others of our fourty eight fellows that returned from Gondrecourt.
Had a funny trick played on me in a cafe this afternoon. The girl made a mistake and gave

Still stormy and rainy. Had an inspection by the inspector general in the rain this afternoon.
I am getting mighty anxious to get out of here. They are ridding us worse than if we were German prisoners. I can easily see why some officers only go over the top once.

I put in the whole fornoon flying [deleted]today[deleted] and finished B1. It was very rough about noon time, but I enjoyed every minute of the time I was up. I went up for a half hour and saw a machine going down on a forced landing. I spiraled down and looked him over. It was Boggie Roberts coming back on his voyage. He was all right and he waved his hand at me as I went by. Boggie got in tonight after being out on his cross country for five days. -- Perc Brown finished B1 this morning and started for his
