Treasurer's Report accepted _

On motion of Uriel Crocker Esq it was Voted that the report of the Treasurer be accepted.

Superintendent's do [Report accepted] _

On motion of Simeon Butterfield Esq. it was Voted that the report of the Superintendent be accepted. _

Committee to receive and count votes for Trustees.

The President declared the next business in order to be the choice of twelve trustees, and appointed

Proprietors' Annual Meeting _ .

Mount Auburn Cemetery

The Annual meeting of the Proprietors of the Cemetery of Mount Auburn will be held at the Horticultural Hall, Tremont Street, Boston, on , to hear the annual reports and choose Trustees for the ensuing year.

Austin J. Coolidge, Secretary. .

In accordance with the foregoing notification which was published seven days before the time of meeting in the Boston Daily newspapers, the proprietors met at the time and place therein named. _

A quorum being in attendance, Dr Jacob Bigelow, the President, took the Chair.

Record Read _

The call for this meeting and the record of the last Annual Meeting were read by the Secretary.

Annual Reports _

The Annual reports in printed form having been distributed among the members present _

On Motion of John McClellan Esq. it was

Voted that the reading of the annual reports be dispersed with.

to serve each for the term of three years, and making the reading of the section in other respects conform to this plan; both which amendments were discussed and rejected.

One amendt to the Report adopted _

On motion, by Asa Wilbur Esqr, it was

Voted. That section four be amended by striking out the word "or" in the fourth line and inserting "and" instead, and by striking out after the words "meeting" _ the words, "either or both, as the Trustees may direct" _ so as to make both modes of notice (personal & by publication) obligatory.

main question ordered by Ballot _

On motion by George William Bond Esqr.

Voted. That when the main question shall be taken, the same shall be by ballot.

The meeting then proceeded to vote by ballot on the propositions as thus amended.

Comee to count ballot.

The President appointed Messrs Charles Hamilton Parker, Joel Richards and John McClellan a Committee to receive and count the votes. _

Report adopted _ The Committee subsequently reported the whole number of votes cast to be five hundred and seventy five (575): in favor of the proposed amendments, five hundred and sixty nine (569); against the same six; and the amendments were

Voted to suspend the rules, if any, which might prevent action being had during the absence of a Committee.

Vote to print Report of Comee of the Proprietors -

On motion by Mr A.T. Turner,

It was Voted

That the Report of the Committee, which had been accepted &c, be printed and distributed among the Proprietors, and that the testimony taken by the Committee be transmitted to the Trustees. ~

Testimony to be read to meeting _ & transmitted to Trustees _

On motion by Mr Wm F. Nichols, it was

Voted that the testimony taken by the Committee be now read to the Proprietors, and the same was read by Dr Brewer, Sec.y of the Committee.
