Trenton, Tennessee To His Excellency William Trousdale Govr- of The State of Tenn-

Dear Sir-

Some time in april last I sent you a recpt given by Jay Chandler Sheriff of Lauderdale County Tenn- given to Charles Bowen Sheriff of Miss- County, and state of Arks for the bodies of [Pattecton?]- White, Mc- Gernis, Bell, Booth, Norwent, and others - Charged with the Murder of David Sawyer in Lauderdale County-

For the apprehension of said prisoners, your predecessor GovrN- S- Brown, had called a reward of dollars to be offerd- and after said reward was offerd said SheffCharles Bowen arrested them- and deliverd them in the the state of Tenn to said Sheff- Chandler- We refer you tou W. H. Humphreys Esqr- for satisfactory proofThat Chandler is Sheff- attend these prisoners have been tried, and acquitted, also to the Comptroller- for the same- and the amount of the reward should the claim be allowed - Please direct

Gentlemen of the Senate & House of Representatives

By the provisions of the law establishing the Bank of Tennessee, it is made the duty of the Governor to nominate at each regular Session of the General Assembly, twelve persons to serve as Directors for two years. In conformity with the provisions of the law, I submit the names of the following persons as such Directors to wit: Thomas L. Bronsford, William Ledbetter, Louis Morton, J. W. Hoggett, John Shelby, M.M. [Mouo= ton?], John [?] John Waters, George G. Allen, Benjamin R. Howard, C. Conor Wm B. Shepperd, John N Otey R. W. H. Bastion, E. A. White All of which is respectfully submitted
