Dear Sneddie,

The hike is a great success, this is the evening of the second day, and when our feet get in good condition we will be able to do better, for we are now only at a place called Seneca Falls, about 170 miles from Albany. Not so bad! Tomorrow we expect to reach Niagra Falls.

about ten miles from Geneva. It's five P.M. and raining much water, so we parked in a grand stand and expect to spread our blankets on the benches and spend the night, much more preferable to the place we spent last night.

unpleasant experience yet. In Syracuse we were passing a five cent restaurant carrying our packs on our backs when the proprieteress of the place called us in and fed us. The food was awful, but very welcome.
