Darling Edward

I have not written you this week but wrote to Nor Dick & Les. Jocelyn left on Tuesday for Rice fields just heard from him. [Written vertically on left margin:] I brought Grandma Daniels a nice bunch of flowers yesterday I thought it was her birthday but was mistaken it was on the 11th June.

Jack is wretchd [wretched] with infection of the Cynus [Sinus] --- from his nose but is on the mend we think -- They are to move next week to a nice house on Clinton just along Union St -- Mrs James (Blanche Tisdale) wife of Dr Edwin Poved the dentist left three a.m. to go ahead on Red Cross work so you "may see" [underlined] her sometime, she is a fine woman.

Fond love my dearest one from each one of us -- I am not surprised that you find yourself cool more so than you expected -- I [underlined] expected you would be so -- Blessings & prayers from us all -- Your loving Mother R. Helen Bates
