or more put in an ounce of oyl of swallows
4 of oyl of spike if being dropt it be a faire
green it is enough strain it into a new gally

Eaight pound of may Butter a pottle of Black snayles put
in first the Butter then the snayles let them boyle halfe an
hower stiring them all the while then take it ofe & put in
two handfuls of thes folowing herbes rosemary Bawm
Lavander cotton southernwood cosmary elder leaves
buglos Broklin camomile Burr leaves rue mint worm
wood selfe heal gather thes in a dry day doe not
wash then chop them smal put them in & when it is
halfe boyld put in a porenger ful of cow dung the same
of Hen dung new made also Frankensence 3 quarters of
a pound nutmegs brused 2 ounces the like of mace
when tis boyld strain it after 2 days clarifie it keep it
for your vse

Wormwood saga Rosemary Camomile Broad
leavd Lavander southernwood a like quantity
of each chopt smal infused in oyl olive a
month then stir them once a day
at the months boyl& strain them & put the
same herbs to it with valerian then boyl & strain
them & let them stand 2 or 3 days boyl
it the 3d time before you strain it

Mrs Howlands way to make oyl of Charity

take of the leaves of Rosemary Camomile Lavander
wormwood & Red sage each 4 ounces chop
them smal put them in a glass put so much oyl
olive to them as will well wett them & swim a little
on the Topp cover the glasse & let it stand a
month in the sun string it ogten then strain
all those Herbs from the oyle then take 6 ounces
of euery one of the same Herbs you had before
& 4 ounces of valerian chop them smal & put
them into the same oyl out of which you strained
the other boyl it on a gentle fire stiring it
continvally least it bume when it is boyld enow
strain it & let it stand 3 days in a glass vessel
then powr out all the oyl & boyl it half an hower
