Fort Worth, Texas, July 30 th,98.

Hon.Mayor and City Council.

Gentlemen;-

We, your committee on Water Works, to whom was refered the attached resolution regarding the placing of a light at 9 th, and Houston and one at the Government Building, beg to recommend that the same be not adopted as the finances of the city at this time are not in a condition to justify the expenditure and we ahve also in the past refused to grant several similar requests. therefore we think it would be wise to postpone any further lights until such time as we can do so from our own plant, or the city finances are in better condition.

Respectfully Submitted.
