by rain. Found Gold Coast Motel & Helen Oliver. She was surprised & glad to see me. Took me out to dinner after I had a rest. Rained off & on thru the night but woke (Mon) to brilliant sunshine. Took road thru residence section of beaches, and as usual wound up at the Naval Air Base gate instead of the Ferry! Perhaps I'll learn someday! Only 2 miles out of the way. Had to wait for ferry, so I walked around. Numbers of people all sizes, ages & colors fishing from bridges all along. Got to Ruth's after eleven. store where I have found dresses before, but none. Dinner at home. Mr & Mrs. Prim in before we had done dishes.

Tues 4/21 Awake early & wrote 3 letters. Ruth & I to Jax. Parked near Cohens, went the rounds of stores, nothing I wanted, back to Cohens where I found dress upstairs & skirt in basement. Decided to ask Tap about it. Rain, but we went to Sand Bar for big sea food dinner. R & I had two hot Scrabble games before late bed time.

Villa owned by Lybrands with whom I spent two days six years ago. They seemed glad to see me & we had quite a visit after lunch. Decided to keep on to M.B. Walked on beach at 2nd Ave for old times sake. Found room near there. Called Myly & El Whitsett & spent evening with her by fire! Hung wash I did before supper by elec heater.

Fri 4/24 Coffee in room & walk on beach before leaving. Breakfast near Ocean Drive, didn't find Socony store there. Went to Holden's - no shells & to Southport by 11:30. Cousin Earl was just dressing - so thin - He was downstairs for big dinner. I drank tea & slept so hard. Walked on Long Beach in aft. Myly had chance to be away from it all for a short time. Drinks before light supper. I gave
