her Old Grandad I got in Nassau. Visited in upstairs office & to bed before 10, sleeping in bed Myly's Grandmother Thompson had all her 14 children in or on!

Sat 4/25 Ran a lot of water getting it hot enough for coffee then bath. Afterwards found I had made it muddy. Will heat water in kit after this. To get mail & groceries with Myly in morning. Cousin E. out on upper porch for short time. I read bits of Newsweek to him, apparently no one has time for that, and with hearing bad & no reading possible to him, he is indeed on the shelf as he says. His mind is quite alert but gets no stimulation from May or Myly. I wish there were some man who could come for a visit now & then. He is so sweet and

patient. After naps we again drove to Long Beach. Myly reminds me of Marje, no idea of time. Cousin E was worn out by the time she got back to car, which she had lost! We all went to bed early.

Sun 4/26 Early coffee from kitchen then br. after Myly had hers & prepared his. I read some headlines from the paper after he was bathed & dressed. Myly is so good to look after his physical wants but is so slow! She, May & I to Cap Grimes for dinner. Three others there - great variety of food. Too windy to take Cous. E. out, so Myly & I drove late in aft to see yacht basin, pigs, mail letter. After supper I sat at piano playing just anything that came to me, & he came down

first time today. He seemed to enjoy it a lot. Myly must be too tired to do anything extra. Letter from Faye says she is driving to Asheville with D. & H. May 7. to be gone 3 days.

Mon 4/27 Wind changed & blowing too much for Myly to go on the beach. Susie not here, so we ate lunch at Sunny Point Cafeteria late, a/c of DST. That will make a difference in my going North. May & I to church supper. Many youngsters there & supper a little late made her nervous. Queer, she doesn't seem to like children as such, but is full of stories of their cute saying & doings! Of course the ones who said & did are grandparents by now! Took Jane Eyre to bed & read till late. Slept with head at foot of bed a/c ceiling light.

Tues 4/28 Days here are all so alike I lose track. Still windy. Myly had perm at 9, so ate early. Susie back. Myly not back till 12:30 or so. For the last two days she hasn't had her afternoon rest and she is worn out. But she drives around to see the little pigs when she goes for the evening mail. Electricians here putting lights & switches in back hall. Played piano for Cousin E. after supper. To bed to read by 9!

Wed 4/29 Wrote Huntsville B & B notes & to May before br. To beach at Ft Caswell covered with dirty foam, no shells. Then to Long Beach & Myly's favorite drive among the dunes. Cousin E. not so well, so May & I drove to have sea food at Calabash. Hard thunderstorm & rain most of the way, no eating places open! So back to Spt where
