Date June 14 1967 Place HP to Boston - Wash Apt changed - plane late for Boston - read Buchwald. 1/2 hr late in Boston - Prue had been at Apt since 6! Lunch at HJ on the way up. Shack at 4. No rain but cloudy & cold. Some trees half out - Flowers lovely - Forget me nots in profusion - huge pansies - Lilacs along the way breathtaking - Egg & bacon supper after visit from M & C [with?] drinks. Read by fire till 9:30 & to bed - long time getting to sleep. I'll have to take two pills.
6/15 Awake 5:30 & up at 6 & room cozy with elec heater on. Egg br. P to hair date at 9 - Sun out & warm. To Michells for drinks & visit - Lex great talker & name dropper. Home to steak dinner

6/16 To Dam in AM - crowded. P. got groceries & picked out her bday present. Hot there but very pleasant here. Nap every afternoon & 2 sleep pills at night. They must be very mild. To Miriam's for drinks. She & Cathy came down to see raccoon. Mama eats every bit on plate. Other who came got mad & carried off & hid donut feeder
6/17 Another summer day. Perre sawed off dead part of old birch then spent the rest of the day adjusting, oiling, gassing & cleaning it. Mr & Mrs Noyes stopped by in the afternoon, also Henry Thorp & his fiancée! Henry tall & very good looking, having lost some of his fat. He is in Coast Guard. Prue & I to Hilda's for sherry & vermouth & visit. Read till bedtime & to sleep without 2 pills!
