Grape- Juice

5 lbs of grapes 1 lb of sugar 1 qt of water

Stem grapes, let come to a good boil in 1/2 of the water and drain through a cheese cloth bag, then boil again with remainder of water after it comes to a boil again drain then boil with the sugar, remove the scum if any, sterilize the bottles, put in while boil and cork immediately

Mush.

To boil mush place in a milk boiler 2 qts of water 1 teaspoon - ful of salt, when water is boiling add very slowly sifting it 1/2 lb of Indian meal boil 2 or 2 1/2 hours, [following section crossed out:] when wanted for frying add 2 tablespoonsful of flour and boil 1/2 hour longer

Shellbark Macaroons.

Whites of 5 eggs beaten to a stiff froth add 1 lb of pulverized sugar 4 tablespoonsfull of flour, 1 lb of kernels chopped fine, juice of 1/2 of a lemon. Drop in spoonful on a greased paper in hot oven.
