Fudge Cake (Copied from Florence's old manuscript)
2/3 c sugar 2/3 c dry cocoa 1/2 c coffee Boil these until consistency of cold cream. Flavor with vanilla. 1/2 c. butter 1 c sugar - creamed together 2 eggs 1/2 c coffee 1 tsp. soda dissolved in a very little hot water Add 2 scant tsp bak. powder to 2 c. sifted flour. Beat well and add first mixture to it. Bake in a mod. oven. Ice with a plain butter iceing or a fudge frosting.

Peanut Butter Refrigerator Cake (Prudence Penny)
1 1/3 c (1 can) sweetened condensed milk 3 tsp. lemon juice 1/2 c. ground peanut brittle Graham Crackers (about 18)
Stir condensed milk and lemon juice together until mixture thickens. Put peanut brittle through food chopper, using coarse knife. Fold ground peanut brittle into first mixture. Line a square or oblong pan with wax paper and then with graham crackers. Cover with a layer of peanut brittle mixture Repeat until all ingredients are used. Top with layer of crackers. Let stand in refrigerator 12 hrs. or longer. To serve, unmold, slice, + garnish with whipped cream. Serves 8.

Sour Cream Spiced Cake (Radio Kitchen Recipe)
Cream 1/2 c shortening 2 c light brown sugar (added grad.) Separate 3 eggs Beat egg yolks Sieve together 1 3/4 c. cake flour 1/2 t salt 1/2 t soda 1 t bak. powder 2 t cinnamon 1 t cloves 1 t all spice Add - 1 c sour cream alternately with dry ingred. Lastly add: beaten egg whites Bake in 2 layers - mod. oven 250 Cover with boiled icing and chopped nuts.
